Katy..will you shut the hell up and read my question properly before you answer it! Mature woman, my backfoot!

Anywho..police officers often blame the female for the type of clothes she wears, her attitude, her looks, i just wanted to know people views on it and i thought it would be an interesting question to ask.

That is a loaded question.

No-one provokes rape, and anyone who says ''well, look at what she was wearing, she asked for it'' is not mature enough to own a pair of balls.

That said, their are ppl out their not old enough to own said balls and women should be aware of that.

I also feel that men are currently getting a bad press from women who are unaware of what they are agreeing to when drunk, but is that the guys fault?

I am sure some men prey on drunk girls when they themselves are sober, and that is criminal, but a drunk guy and a drunk girl is not criminal, simply sad (been there often!).

It moves me to tears to think of a girl being raped, but it gives me no sense of justice to see an equally innocent boy being shut away.

Be careful girls, please.

And guys to.

I think that provocative dress or behaviour can contribute to rape, but it does not excuse the action in any way.
The are a number of reasons why the conviction rate is so low, amongst them are malicious accusations, either for revenge or monetary gain, another is retrospective withdrawal of consent, where the woman wished she hadn't a few days later, rather than saying no at the time.
The other controversial issue is, when is a woman capable of giving consent.
Some say that when a woman is drunk she is not capable of giving consent, therefore it is always rape if a man has sex with a woman who has had a few drinks.
My girlfriend got very angry when she heard this, saying that she enjoyed sex more after a few drinks and felt more relaxed, and resented some self appointed busybody tell her when she can or can't have sex

there are actually VERY, VERY FEW false rape accusations made. I'm studying this in family law right now. For someone to come forward about a rape is GENERALLY an act of courage. the false accuser should not get off scott-free - if nothing else the person she victimized should look at a civil action. did he then go to the police and file a false arrest, etc report or did he just trust the system to reach out and correct itself?

I agree and disagree to some extent. In many cases, a woman dressed up in provocative clothes is obviously going to attract a male's attention. And even if they're clothes aren't too revealing, if, for example, the rapist can see the female shape, then it is clearly going to provoke him even if a little bit.

However, in some cases, it's not even about the way a woman dresses or anything, it's just the rapist doing what he was going to do to any woman, and to say the woman is provoking him is sort of putting the blame on the woman, and it is not the woman's fault. But like I said, to some extent the woman may kind of influence the rapist towards raping her a little more by the way she dresses, but not all women.

So is your question about all women in general, or certain types of women ie women who dress a certain way.

Alot of people follow the "she was asking for it" thought on it, that the woman was dressed far too slutty or whatever, but that's just asinine, the fact is most women who get raped would've been raped no matter what they were wearing. Rape isn't about sex, normally if a guy is that horny and really wants sex he'd just go pay a prostitute, rape is about power by disturbed people.

no women dont provoke it - if the rapist says it because of the way the women dress - then what about the poor old pensioners that get raped - or the physically or mentally disabled women or children and even babies - no one asks to be raped - if that was the case then the supermarkets would have to make a new section called rape wear

No woman provokes rape! Rape is an evil crime. The man who commits it has a choice. You cannot blame the victim in any way.

People like the muslim poster above are disgusting. Are you saying that all men are so evil that unless a woman is covered head to toe in bedsheets he will just "have" to rape her? What BS!!!

Whats next? They will be saying that children "provoked" paedophiles into attacking them?!

the point i find interesting is what happens in the rapists head at the point where the woman says no!! if that happens 'normal men' are turned off....i often wonder how anyone would want!! to actually force a woman to have sex? i cant think of a bigger turn off. its hardly a sexual thing. it must be a power thing. sad w@nkers need to dominate some one i suppose??

i listen to rape case trials in court almost weekly, the problem with the allegation is proof, forget d.n.a ext she said yes. prove she didn't that's the hardest part for a female to do convince a jury.so much background comes out it sometimes makes the female the instigator. " some cases i hear who are found not guilty are sometimes justified" its hard to prove the guilt, but sometimes when someone accuses a person for revenge, the real people suffer. i can see from your later comments that dress is an issue i go out in shorts do women rape me "no"
