What does 1680x1050 resolution mean for an LCD monitor?

It is for my xbox 360 and i don't know if it can handle 60 frames per second.

That is WSXGA+, a native resolution common with new widescreen 20 to 22" LCD monitors.

Frame rates at high resolution would also depend on kind of game and game settings.

Not much unless you're using a PC. For an XBox 360 you'd be better off getting a 1920x1080 HDTV and run it at native resolution. It will look best pixel for pixel with no distortion or stretching.
