I couldn't say just one, the real trick is the menu has to be THE SAME. Don't try anything experimental recipes for Thanksgiving. Once, my mom put an orange glaze on the turkey, and we haven't let her live that down.
The only other thanksgiving thing that is important to me is my Day After Thanksgiving Sandwich. If I have to go without it for whatever reason, it bodes poorly for the rest of the holiday season. One time, I had to work at Sears the day after Thanksgiving, but I thought, eh, at least I'll have my sandwich at lunchtime...and someone ATE MY SANDWICH!!! Totally ruined my day, and I had some really bad luck from then until New Year's!

its not a food per se , that makes it feel like thanksgiving its all the foods combined that are only eaten at this time of year, on that day, what other day do you get to be a glutton

Enough food to feed everyone in the family, including other less fortunate needy people with small children who don't have anything for themselves to eat.

cranberry sauce i love that stuff thats why i look forward to the holidays cuz its a given that we will have it i really hate turkey its too dry but i guess it would be a weird turkey day with no turkey lol

Stuffing with Brown Gravy. Iknow it sounds weird, but it's yummy.
