While I certainly don't condone cheating on a spouse, there are as many reasons why a person cheats as there are people who cheat. I don't think that necessarily makes a person inappropriate for leading a country. If it did, Eisenhower would have been out of luck. So would Franklin Roosevelt. And President Kennedy. I could go on but even Thomas Jefferson had several children by a mistress. No, they may cheat on their spouses but there are many other reasons for choosing a leader.

Like Rudy? The devil is in the details. Rudy was such an incredible cad that his wife and kids found out he was divorcing her on national TV. Nice. We're talking about a guy whose own kids won't stand on the same stage with him. That tells me a lot about his lack of good character.
I know a lot of men who cheat, unfortunately. Some get caught and the marriage survives. It doesn't really lead to thinking they are weak in most areas of their life. But when they don't have enough character to keep those details as quiet as possible and not embarrass their family and children without a thought as to anything but their own desires and happiness? That's a character flaw too glaring to ignore.

One has nothing to do with the other. This country is full of people cheating on their spouses from the white house to a street sweeper. We're electing a president, not the next Pope. I would think most Presidents have had affairs, I just don't see the connection.

Hasn't stopped a long list before. I can think of about 20 Presidents off the top of my head that had affairs. Hell. Kennedy didn't even leave the White House, he used to do em in the closet from what I read.

Not at all. How a person conducts his private life is often very different from how he conducts his business, political, educational, or other professional life.
Some of our greatest and most beloved presidents cheated, yet they led our nation quite well through times of turmoil.
