im new to this site so i dont know how to respond to replies so thanks in advance!

ok now im even more confused because a lot of ppl say use partition magic but ppl also say its not possible. my new dvd recorder only supports FAT32/16 so you can see why i want to. i have heard of a dos command but am too afraid to use it incase of loss of data

Well I don't know if there is a proper way to do it, but in order to get round it I know what I would do.
I would partition the drive - and format one half (call it a) in Fat32, then once thats done, transfer the stuff over to the newly formatted part (drive a). Then you can leave drive b as NTFS or format that too. Means you will always have two parts to your one hard drive, but its up to you.
I would just say NTFS is actually better than Fat32 and you will find more computers use NTFS than Fat32 nowadays.

Simple answer. You can't. Windows has a way to upgrade to NTFS, but not to downgrade back to FAT32. You have to format.

Or to purchase a third party utility like Partition Magic which has that ability.

you can create a partition. leaving one half NTFS and the other FAT32

by a hardrive for one the dowload it on to that one and then pu tit in a sample computer at best by t the one u want to convert it too and he the info will be on it so u can go back to put it on ur computer
