The green dot is the result of a new rule in effect for the 2007 NFL season. The green dot helmet indicates that the helmet is wired with a radio for calling in plays to the quarterback.

Not only is it to show that the quarterback is wearing a radio helmet, only one such helmet can be on the field at any one time. This means a defensive player can't borrow the quarterback's (from his side) helmet or a backup quarterback (for a trick play) playing along side the main quarterback can't wear such a helmet.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. It is a new feature of Madden 08 that allows you to control the QB from home with your Xbox controller.
I heard Mike Vick has been using all his extra time practicing Madden and has been at home controlling Tom Brady. What will Brady do now that Vick is in jail???

GREEN MEANS ENVIRONMENTALIST! They are protesting the President's environmental policy. They favor stopping the global warming by big oil. that and stopping the flow from mexico, me mum said.
not enough to stop the flow now, now they must send pedro back home. i need that job busing tables and picking peas. my whole family will be glad to get those jobs when bush completes his budget busting war efforts.
that sure was worth the money to be rid of silly saddam and his nasty sons.
