Well, it's always good to be around moral people and kind people.
I would not mind trying it out to see what it's like. But I am so accustomed to using a toilet, I would find that one thing hard to give up. I can be happy keeping up my hygiene in other ways than a regular bath tub, but toilet, I don't know if I can give up. Only if I had no choice but to be homeless I can.
The simple lifestyle may be what helps them to be closer to God and what makes them have an easier time living a moral life.

I would also like to experience it but I don’t think I could live that way permanently. I think it would be cool to do for a month or even a summer. Live with some Amish family sort of like an exchange student.

Yes It seems like it would be lots of hard work but perhaps less stressful I wonder what the average life span is for the Amish

I agree that people sometimes yearn for a less complex, more relaxing life style. An escape from the rat race.Though I suspect there is a lot to being Amish than sowing seeds and reaping crops.

Yeah, my dad does, he is a carpenter and likes making things without power tools. He thinks that the simpler way of life is better. But he also can't live without his television or his computer so go figure!

I'd like to experience it, anyway. I couldn't live their lifestyle permanently, but it would be nice to take a break and get back to some old-fashioned simplicity every now and then.
