Growth spurt, 2-3 oz every 2-3 hrs. Mainly when they are hungry. She might have gas if shes crying, try Mylicon drops after feeding her. Usually it should take 15-20 mins to feed.

She could have gas, but she may just be hungry too. My daughter was 9lbs when she was born and she was drinking 4 ounces every 2 hours when she was 5 days old. Some babies just eat more than others especially when they are big babies. Burp her often during feedings and give her 4 ounces at each feeding and see how she acts. An extra ounce won't hurt her if she truly is hungry. Give her a pacifier right after you feed her...she may just need to suck.

my son is 3 weeks and 5days today, i give him 3 ounces every 3 hour and he seems fine with it,

i guess you can try pushing him\her a little and see what happens. i have also introduced a pacifer and it buys me time a little bit. let the child cry a liitle bit and see if it is food they want or just fussing around.

check the diaper too sometimes it might just it.
before he was eating almost any time when he woke up and i as his mother thought he was going a little bit out of hand , like i will feed him and an hour later he wanted to eat 3 onces again . i let him scream not of hand of course , the whole time when i was introducing him to this pattern i will rock him, talk to him and did a lot to distract him.

soon it fell in hand and thats is schudule now, i mean at least till he changes again but then i will take it from there again

Some babies are hungry every 45-minutes to an hour. You should continue to feed when she is demanding it.. at this early of an age. 3 ounces seems fine.. but maybe it's the nipple you are using. Try a low flow or controlled flow nipple. I have a really good one by medela.. it allows you to control the milk into the end of the nipple at low, medium or high flow so that the newborn can suckle at a slow pace. They stay fuller for longer if the flow is slow. Good luck.

I easily have a 7 week previous additionally formulation fed. She eats approximately 6-7 oz. a feeding. that's each and every 4-5 hours. So ours are geting an identical quantity, i think of its basically what the child needs. I easily have been advised her entire existence that she does not consume sufficient or eats to plenty. i do no longer think of there's a great or incorrect in this. in case you attempting to rigidity him to consume you may over feed them and then he will basically spit it lower back up doing no longer something. yet some thing to sparkling up.

You should be feeding her when she shows signs of hunger. Don't wait for her to cry - that's a very late sign of hunger, and don't watch the clock. Your baby knows when she is hungry and how much she needs.

You NEVER have to worry about overfeeding a newborn. (up to 1 month of age)

The reason is because newborns know when to eat and when not to. Even if it seems like they are eating sooo much and sooo often, it's just because their tummies are small, they digest food quickly, and they are growing at a fast rate.

Feed your baby!

you should feed a newborn on demand their tummies are small and dont hold all that much so feed her whenever she is hungry....if she gets to full she will throw up any excess that doesnt fit into her tummy

Babies around 13 days eat about 3ozs each feeding. It could be gas or they went boo boo or want you to hold them. Check everything before you feed them.
