support's based on annual income so if he's on strike for 2 months come next year, you'll be getting less support.

Technically yes, but if there isn't any money for the CS to come out of, what do you do?
If you guys were married, he would still be on strike and not collecting a check....so the situation isn't any different.
I hope you're not mad or upset at the parent for this, the situation wouldn't be any different if you guys were together and it happened.

Of course;-{ but if they're laid off or unemployed they can appeal to Family Court for an adjustment.
They'd better be able to prove it was not their deliberate fault.
