There's loads to do depending on what you enjoy. Some things other replies haven't mentioned - Canal boat tour, Vondelpark, eat a pancake at the Pancake Bakery right by the Anne Frank House, try poffertjes. Loads of shopping streets. Tourists like Zaanse Schans, side trip out of Amsterdam - windmills etc. Hire a bike and ride around - I think this is the best way to see the city, but be sure to lock your bike even for a quick 5 minute look in a store. An unlocked bike can disappear in seconds. Even a locked bike can be stolen so you may want to take out insurance when you hire.

The big art museums are well worth a visit. Also, you could check out the Anne Frank house, and the tree in front of it, which may be removed soon ... Lots of great Indonesian restaurants in the Netherlands, Amsterdam is no exception.
For information on the Netherlands, go to www.vvv.nl and there should be an English language version of this page.
