There are many ways to learn to type, including an inexpensive software called "Typing Tutor."
Online there are several sites that are free:

The secret to being able to type without looking at your fingers is to use a typing stand placed on your left side to hold the information to be typed. That way, you will have to look to the left to get the information that is to be typed, and it will make it impossible to look at your fingers.
I also have a "arm" with a clip to hold paper that extends out to the left from my monitor. The paper is not able to slide down as happens with stands.
Just keep practicing and practicing! Typing is a learned skill, not a talent.

Either, sign up for a keyboarding class at a local community college or adult education, or, go out and a purchase a typing tutor program from a computer or office supply store. One example would be "Mavis Beacon" typing program. (I'm not sure of the spelling.) There may be, other, cheaper ones available, but, whicheve you get, the way to get good at it is to spend a LOT of time practicing.
Don't take any shortcuts. Do the drills, and, within a few weeks, you'll be typing away like mad, and, much faster than you do, now.

Alas, this is one of those things where a typing tutorial program and a lot of practice is about the only sure means of becoming so habituated to making that connection between mind and keyboard, 'remembering' though not entirely consciously of finger positioning and key placement, and eventually achieving that 'flow' where you don't need to look at your fingers or the keys. Good luck!

when i was in school, they would have us put a cloth (like stretch a t-shirt or even a pair of boxers) over the keyboard, then type out passages. that way, even if you looked at your fingers, it didn't really help. nowadays, they have an organge silicon thing that fits over the keys and hides the letters, but im not sure where you could get one. putting a t-shirt over the keyboard worked best for me, when i didn't want to buy a hokey typing program and play little games, just get better at typing without looking.

If you don't want to take a course or purchase any software, go online and search for typing games.
Typer Shark is a good game that challenges you to think about what you are typing, and to type faster. It gives you words per minute and accuracy, also.
It actually increased my typing speed.
