Unless you grow your own yogurt cultures, unfortunately... You may have to put off the dairy until you can get your body back on track with probiotics and enzymes.

They are needed to have proper digestion and your growing baby has altered your requirements in your digestive track.

Home remedies are dangerous and do not work. What medication were you prescribed? Did the vet do a test first? The most common problem in treating ear infections is that the vet will prescribe a medication without first swabbing the ear and testing it. Ear infections can be caused by bacteria, fungus, yeast, or mites. If you don't know what it is, it's hard to pick the right treatment. Call the vet and ask if a test was done, if you don't know, and if they can do one as a follow-up if it was not done yet. In the meantime, there are 2 things you can do that will help. First, go to a pet store (it can just be Petsmart or Petco) and get ear cleaner. Flush the ears out 2-3 times per day and swab with cotton balls and q-tips. Wait until the ear dries, and then apply the medication. Treat both ears, if you're not already, even if only one looks infected. The cleaner alone won't cure an infection, but it will help clear out the waxy buildup and make it easier for the medication to be absorbed. The second thing you can do is get some plain lowfat yogurt and feed her a serving of it twice per day. This really only helps with fungal/yeast infections, but since those make up at least half of ear infections, it's got a chance of helping. The live bacteria in yogurt helps both humans and animals overcome fungal infections. You may need to switch her to a grain-free food- ear infections can begin at a nutritional level if the dog has allergies or sensitivity to wheat, corn, soy, or dairy in their food. DO NOT resort to any "folk" remedies like vinegar, olive oil, peroxide, etc. They will do nothing but create a smelly greasy mess and prevent the medication from working properly. My dog suffered from chronic ear infections for 5 years- I switched him to an all-raw diet two years ago, and have not had a problem since. UPDATE: Call the vet back. Tell them the medication has not worked and you want the ears tested to find out what is actually wrong. Ear cleaner does not cure infections, you should have been given a medicated gel, cream, or drops. The cleaner is good to use also, but you need medication in addition to it.

I remember the feeling well. It was hell--living inside me!

Okay, don't tell my OB, but I took up to 10 tagamet 300mg per day to be comfortable. Even then, it was rough.

Since then, I've come to believe that some of the back up of acid is due to my intenstines being backed up. I was regular, but I still had a lot of stuff I needed to unload. So I started taking fiber tabs, and Miralax. The baby was born before I could get conclusive evidence on that.

Salad was all I could eat.

What about that new yogurt--Pro-Active--would that help? Can you keep dairy down? They have it in little cheese bites now, too.

I wish you the best and hope you find a cure for your ailment. If you do, write a book, we'll all buy it and you'll be a millionaire.

I feel for you jodi, I suffered from heartburn from the day I concieved to the day I gave birth with both children and it was HELL. lol

I would recommend you try taking digestive enzymes before each meal to combat the indigestion and try to keep to natural foods, nothing processed.

If you are taking prenatal vitamins (which you should take) then try taking them at different times, if after the meal doesn't work, try before the meal. Always have some water before taking any pill to help you have a cushion in your gut for the pill to land into.

Over the counter meds can be as harmful as prescription meds, please take caution with everything you take.

I still use this even tough I am not pregnant, but if you take a table spoon of baking soda and mix in a glass with about 6 ounces of water then take a couple sips at a time evey little while till heartburn gone and repeat every time the heartburn returns. It sounds gross, but it really is not horrible and definately does work.

Sweetie, never take any over the counter or any other medication or home remedy while pregnant without consulting your Doctor.

One of the oldest things to help with indigestion that women have used for years is good old fashioned soda crackers. During all of my pregnancies, I had a package on my bedside table, one on the coffee table and single packs in my pocket book for when I went out. Soda cracker worked for me, as they did for my Mum and every other woman that I have personally known who has been pregnant.

If you are concerned about your salt intake, you can get the non-salted soda crackers. I also found that ice water helped me; but, my Mum lived off of Soda Water for her entire pregnancy with my kid brother.

Speak to your Doctor and see what he/she has to say; but, again, I can not urge you enough to never take anything without consulting your Doctor first while you are pregnant.

Eating watermelon was the only thing that helped me with heartburn, indigestion and nausea during my pregancy with my second daughter. I know, sounds strange, but it really helped!

Best wishes in the birth of a happy and healthy baby!

herbal remedies are not something you should play with during your pregnancy.
now, i used to drink iced milk. plain-nothing added but ice.
it seems the coldness helped and i dont care what they say, milk works.
usually indigestion occurs in the first and last trimester, but it can happen during any.
try iced milk and do not lay down right after meals.

try to figure out if there is a specific cause-keep a food diary-you might find that certain foods might be worth eliminating.

hugs and congrads!

You may want to try Ginger tea or the capsules. Or go to a health food store and get some enzymes to digest the food.

Chocolate milk was the only thing that worked for me. I feel your pain.
Small meals, eat often, stay away from spicy things, keep away from anything you know that bothers you. Also, your prenatal vitamins may cause heartburn so be sure to take them with meals. Try to sleep in a semi-upright position.
Good luck - at least it's a temporary situation.
