If you weren't co-dependent, you couldn't ever be "let down". Honestly, there's very little time/place where I could allow myself at the whims of someone else's choices, to be let down by them. Only when people ruin themselves - and my idea of what they can be, for themselves.. am I let down. I feel for them, not for me.
