Dogs because they will save your life, they will get your paper, they bark at people and strangers, they do what they are told and they will be there when you are sad, they will love you and miss you.
Cats are more finicky and just like to sleep and eat all day, when they dont want to bother they leave. Not very dedicated like a dog.

Dogs are very loyal. They are always happy to see you. They warn you of intruders and will protect you. They love to be with you. Their lives goal is to please you.
Cats are very independent and only need you for food and water and sometime a scratch on the head, but only when they want it.
owner of 5 dogs and 1 cat.

Dogs were domesticated first, and we have developed a relationship with them like no other animal. But I love cats too.
