NO
zook had no offense while at Florida that is why he is at Illinois
zook was a good defensive coach and has brought that speed on the defensive side with him from the SEC

Zook is from Ohio. Just like Les Miles and Urban Meyer. The big ten is 8-6 against the SEC in bowl games over the last 5 years. You really know nothing about football, do you? He would have won a national championship at florida last year, it was his players Meyer used to win it all. Tressel has been using the spread since the early 90s, and he also was born in Ohio.

SEC style? there no such thing as offense style in SEC.Its about the defense. He has done a great job with Illinois but to dominate the Big Ten is just ridculous. This is another one of those Michigan state,Minnesota, Iowa kind of team where they are of kgood for 2 or 3 years sort eeping pace with Michigan,Penn State and Ohio State but thats about it.They might be able to be 3rd maybe even second best next year bout thats about it.In 3 or 4 years from now this team will just be another 5-5 team tryin to make it to a bowl game. Its been proved too.Iowa,Michigan State and Minnesota even Purdue all have make big names when 2000 came around all getting themselves mentioned in the top 15 but 2006 and 2007 they are all yet to be seen.Illinois has much too go before knocking Wisconsin and Penn State outta 3rd and 4th

Coach Zook (sorry but sounds like a Dr. Seuss book) will continue to be successful AS LONG AS he can continue to get the athletes needed to utilized his version of the spread offense.
ALL The Big Ten teams are using at least SOME spread offense, ILLiNOISE uses a wish-bone spread offense, and no doubt if Zook is a good coach, he can change his offense to a pure spread if he canna replace williams with another running qb.
If The Ohio State Buckeyes can get Terrell Pryor to come and run our offense, yous will see something similar to what ILLiNOISE was running this year, only this; Terrell Pryor is about TEN LEVELS ABOVE williams of ILLiNOISE and wvu's pat white!!!!

this is a good question! i think the key is that zook values speed over other qualities when he recruits. the SEC thrives on quick defensive ends & speed at the skill positions, which is what zook seems to be doing at illinois. i think illinois is on the verge of competing for the conference crown, and will "look" different than the other programs in the Big 10, but I don't think the other teams - esp. wisonsin, michigan, & ohio state - will change all that much. in other words, illinois is evolving and, because other Big 10 teams are not, will be very successful.

Just like the way Urban Meyer saved the SEC by bringing in the Mountain West offense to Florida!

Zook's offense will change the Big Ten, since his recruiting base is solidly in the south.....speed kills and the success he is having at Illinois will make it a major player for recruits at the skill positions. He is putting in place something that could be very, very special...and dominating.

No, UofM is trading in their Carr for one with Les Miles, and they will become dominant once again. The Big 10 has been, and will always be the Big 2, and everyone else.

he is doing good and he's doing what he couldnt do in the sec.
the sec was too strong for him and the big 10 was a better fit so i think he can turn them into a contender soon.
