Now he caucuses with the republicans, which is where his heart is, so he has the best of both worlds. It's not ironic because "homeland security" is a term Lieberman uses without irony. I don't think he realizes it sounds like something from the Third Reich. Yeah, ok, that doesn't make sense, so I've change my mind. It is ironic.

Why would I find irony in that? Joe Lieberman has been a strong supporter of security initiatives and the war. In fact he was basically ousted by his chosen party in the last election and forced to run as independent for his strong stance on this very issue.
