What is one negative comment your parents told you growing up that affected you as an adult?

My mom would tell my sister how pretty she was in front of me, and never said it to me.
Now my sorta-boyfriend complains about my low self esteem. Hah. Then he says I'm pretty. :)

I think it was all the arguing and putting me in the middle of things that really affected me as an adult.

My dad told me I would amount to nothing I don't think he meant it though. Although I have amounted to nothing so far according to his standards... Great dad though.
