My dad always saying that he was out of film so he had to run to the store and get it. And then he always missed Santa. I felt so bad for him.

One year, my older brothers and I spent the week before Christmas rattling and weighing and trying to guess what was in the gifts with our names under the tree.

Christmas Eve we organized our pile of gifts into the order we wanted to open them. We knew there would be more gifts from Santa but we wanted a head start on the ones from Mom and Dad.

On Christmas morning we rushed to the tree and discovered that the gifts we'd been shaking were NOT ours!

Our sneaky parents had switched the tags on them all!

i was 8 when i received my first bike, for christmas, it was the 60's era then, most kids in my street one parent was either ill, or out of work, so i got my bike, latest design, flouresant pink in colour, couldnt wait to ride it, which i did, but i let my not so well off friends have a go as well, not only did i have a good christmas but my pals, did too, we still keep in touch today, meet in a pub at christmas and talk about our childhood days were all in our 50's now, but, even now a mature woman, i adore going to church, to wish the most important person Jesus a happy birthday, carl sing, i have 18 or 20 for christmas dinner, you should be together then, we sing songs, open gifts i adore putting the tree up, and cleaning my home, making it warm and cosy, for all who pass my thresh-hold.
Our family, though, we shall be saying a prayer for all those who are serving in the armed services, this christmas i am having a mass in my home for them, they are having it rough and tough, we will all be happy snuggled in warmth celebrating in our own ways you have a lovely christmas and your family too.

I had to sleep with my sister (older by 15 years) because the house was full of company. (I don't remember who was sleeping in my single bed, but my sister had a double bed). I was sooooo excited and wanted to get up. She wanted to sleep. She told me we couldn't get up until I could read the clock. It was the basement - it was dark - she got up to go to the bathroom and I jumped up, turned on the lights, read the clock and when she came back I insisted that I could read it now and we HAD to get up. I think it was 5:30 in the morning, but we all got up. I loved being the youngest and having that much control over the situation!

When I was 7, my father bought a pony for me and my sister. He brought it into to the living room so we would find it under the christmas tree. The pony, "Beauty" was a big success, but her hooves dented the kitchen floor. My mother complained for years.
