No. Healthcare and medication has long been privatized, and privatization means there is no regulation on the amount that can be spent developing, or charging for, a drug.

lobbying heavy by drug industry to stall faster availability of cheaper generic drugs.
i understand there are some state laws set min pricing fro generic drugs.. but cant find the reference. lobby ing by drug companies
means what the market would naturally do isn't what's happening. drugs are often priced far higher than their value.

the cost of drugs are determined by the supplier. and often has nothing to do with the cost of making them.
unles govt does some market controls its

supply vs. demand.

one reason WHY even legal DRUGS ARE ONE OF THE MOST PROFITABLE INDUSTRIES WHILE MANY elderly and other POOR DIE sometimes WITHOUT even ACCESS to antibiotics.

They've always had the right, obviously they can't go and charge say $200 a pill for something like xanax, but basically they can charge what they want.
