Yes, if you live in a small community. I lost 11 friends to suicide so far, almost all of them did it when they were drinking. They copied each other mostly, my cousin who did it was sad over her friend's suicide and she did it the exact same way.

It's so sad...we need to do something about it. The suicide rate amongst Alaskan youth is very high, the highest in this nation. Because we're a close community and we hurt very bad when someone does that and the depression is contagious.

I can't say yes or no but I know of a woman that is a licensed phycologist and her father committed suicide when she was a child. When she married and had children, she chose not to tell them. They are all adult today and have children of their own and they still don't know their grand father took his own life. She once told me that she personally thought it was in their best interest if they never knew. I truly believe that it is possible to have suicide run in the family, just like any other disease..I know from experience that this is possible. My X husband had an uncle, 4 first cousins, 1 great aunt all to commit suicide. The only concern I have is that I had 2 sons by this man and I think about it all the time.., if it is an inherited trait, what can I do about it. . .

it can be, that's where the media comes in there are movies and music out there that influences the way u think, and the way u behave. so lets say u like this rock band ( just for an example) heavy metal to be exact that all they talk about is dying, and suicide, and killing parents, and just everyone around u. u may end up thinking like that, and pick up behaviours that will lead to some kind of death.

there was this guy ( true story btw) who started listening to heavy metal a band that all they did was talk about suicide, and killing loved ones, one day his mom asked him to do something he got really mad and killed his mom, after he realized what he did, he killed himslef.

so pretty much everything around u influences the way u think, and act especially music even when u claim to just be listening to the beat. the same thing can work with rap that talks about drugs and killing to survive. there's also great tragedies in the family or in life that can lead u to think that suicide is a way out btw.

Hahaha yeah, don't share a toothbrush with anyone who might have 'suicide'!

No, it's not. There are such things as suicide pacts, where people decide they'll kill themselves together, and a person's suicide may INFLUENCE someone else to commit suicide, or DEPRESSION OR MENTAL ILLNESS can run in families, which may or may not lead to suicide. That's it.

i'd say yes it is

because if someone sees someone takes their lives they'd look back at that person's life and compare it to their own and more than likely would say that their lives where worse so if the other person couldn't handle it then why should they keep fighting to live as well...
