I have some questions about the juvenile criminal system in Pennsylvania. Crime commited was stealing...
a) How can probation be extended?
b) Can probation officers go into records of the offender’s friends even though the friends have never before committed a criminal act?
c) If the juvenile turns 18 in the middle of his or her probation is anything different from the original juvenile law system (does it revert to an adult law system)?
d) If a judge says it is unnecessary for photograph and fingerprints to be taken but the delinquent officer say it is necessary can you fight it?
e) Are delinquent officers allowed to get in contact with friends of the offender even if not given permission by the offender?
f) Does having a juvenile record affect the schools you may have the chance to get into?
g) If you have a problem with your delinquent officer who or how can you report this? (Already she is giving unfair statements and has crossed the boundary on some things)
Thanks

a) How can probation be extended? - By court order. Normally as a response to repeated probation violations. The clock also stops if you are in juvi or jail for any reason. It can also stop suring drug treatment or any other program that was not an original part of probation.

b) Can probation officers go into records of the offender’s friends even though the friends have never before committed a criminal act? - Yes. That is how he verifies that the friends have not committed criminal acts.

c) If the juvenile turns 18 in the middle of his or her probation is anything different from the original juvenile law system (does it revert to an adult law system)? - Probation violations send you to adult jail.

d) If a judge says it is unnecessary for photograph and fingerprints to be taken but the delinquent officer say it is necessary can you fight it? - Nope.

e) Are delinquent officers allowed to get in contact with friends of the offender even if not given permission by the offender? - Yes. They don't need the offenders permission.

f) Does having a juvenile record affect the schools you may have the chance to get into? - Yes. Some schools will not accept an applicant with any record.

g) If you have a problem with your delinquent officer who or how can you report this? (Already she is giving unfair statements and has crossed the boundary on some things) - You can speak with their supervisor. I would be sure you are right first...

It sounds like you need to buck up and get your probation over with.

It's going to suck.

The more you screw around though, the longer its going to take.
