I think Freakonomics is a very interesting read for anyone. I love anything by Michael Crichton. Ecclesiastes of the Old Testament is, in my opinion, one of the darker and more interesting books of the Bible. I also like to read the parables of Jesus, good stuff. Also, one of my favorite books, the epic of Gilgamesh; excellent poetic story that makes Beowulf look like trash. Should specify on your interests.

Ishmeal By Daniel Quinn is an excellent book. Into the Wild is a very interesting one too that is a quick read and the movie is in theaters now...Not as good as Ishmeal in my opinion tho.

It depends on your tastes. If you are into vampires (like I am lol), you can try out the Laurell K Hamilton Anita Blake series. Anything by Dean Koontz is excellent, as well!
