You can understand and relate to most people better if you look at them -- no matter how old or impressive they may be -- as if they are children. For most of us never really grow up or mature all that much -- we simply grow taller and learn how to hide better. We laugh less, play less and wear uncomfortable disguises like adults, but beneath the costume is the child we always are, whose needs are simple, whose daily life is still best described by fairy tales.

I really like that! It makes me reflect on the people around me, and how this could change my perception of them and help udnerstand them better. If nothing else, it makes me feel a bit more like letting my inner child out to play for a while and enjoy life more :-)

I don't agree in the least... this isn't universal, although I can see the child in many people around me, and can see the child in myself through my real-life baby/toddler son... it's just not so, with many others... we ALL want everything simple, and simple to understand & apply, and what's more PURE and easy than the child within us all, I get it.. but...

Can you even imagine Hillary Clinton as a child, for one example..??? It would take me ALL day to try to conjure what she'd be like -- and then, for all my trying I'd completely miss the understanding of who she is, or how I might relate. Don't you think? That inner-child can be wholly obscured & abandoned.

Most men will nod to anything you're saying (you're stunning) because the messenger is sometimes more influencial than the message, and many people here, are essentially bobbing heads (for points). But, I like to be honest about philosophy and application about what I've seen, heard, learned, etc. and this doesn't quite fit. (Tell Leo, I said so.)

Thank you for making me smile. It is very true for some people, but not everyone. In my own experience, the very best way to understand another person is to listen to what he has to say without judgment and observe his body language, because he will let you know everything you were curious about in his own way. Now, to relate to someone simply imagine walking in his shoes from time to time.

Where did the quote come from? I think that's pretty fitting. I've met people that were in their 90's that have told me that they wish they could ride a skateboard or ride a bike or chase a young woman around if their bodies would only cooperate.

It sounds good in theory, but can you imagine Osama bin Laden as a small boy who just lives to play stickball?
