The singer has long curley dark hair. She wears glasses. In the video she is walking around her empty studio apartment. I'm pretty sure its her singing about her ex boyfriend or telling him why she is leaving. I remember at the end of the video she walks out of the apartment and the video ends. My wife brought it up and my mind has went blank, Please help.

Ethan Hawke was Lisa Loeb's neighbor at the time the video was made, infact, it is Ethan's cat who makes a few cameo's throughout the video. She is the only artist who had a video in rotation without being signed to a label.

I am thinking you are talking about Lisa Loeb's "Stay" but I don't think she had curly hair so it may not be. Sounds like it to me though.
