It is an envelope which you address to yourself - and put enough postage on it: this way, whoever you send this to will simply take that envelope, include whatever message is expected and mail it back to you: this way it saves them time and money: you pay for the envelope and the stamp, and the return address is already on it.

You put an envelope with your address AND A POSTAGE STAMP into the envelope you send.
That way, the fan club puts the thing you want into the envelope you send, and just puts it back in the mail. They don't need to address the envelope, and they don't need to put postage on the envelope. It's a way for them to save time and expense.
I hope that helps.

Yes, you mail them your request plus an extra envelope with your address and a stamp already on it. That way, they just stuff the envelope with whatever you're supposed to get and it's back in the mail --- less work for them.

In your letter, you include an unsealed envelope addressed to yourself with a stamp on it. They don't want to pay for the envelope or the stamp, and they don't want to have to address the envelope, either.

That's what it is but make sure that you put a stamp on it or they won't send you back anything.
