how many litres or gallons does it hold?

also, how do you work it out?!

If you want the answer in liters. that's the easiest to figure out.

First, convert each of the measurments from inches to centimeters - 1 inch = 2.54 cm, so 18in x 2.54cm/in = 45.72cm Do this for the other two measurements as well.

Second, multiply the three end results from step 1 together to get cubic centimeters (cc). One cc = 1 milliliter (ml)

To convert from ml to liters, divide by 1,000 and that's your answer.

To convert from liters to gallons, 1 gallon = 3.785 liters, so divide the number of liters you get by 3.785.

Of course, lazy people like me don't do the math - we use online calculators and just plug in the measurements:

L(in inches X width(in inches X depth(in inches) = Cubic inches in the tank divided by 231(number of Cubic inches in a gallon) X 3.7854 (number of liters in a gallon). 29.5 l.

18 times 10 times 10 will give you the total cubic inches of your tank (1800 cubic inches)

1 cubic inch equals .016 liters

So, .016 times 1800 will give you 28.8 liters

18x10x10 = 1800 cu. inches

1800/231 cu in.per gal. = 7.8 gal

7.8 gal x 3.78 l per gal. = 29.5 l
