I have not followup up on what happened with issue one. Does anyone know what the impact has been on the clubs in Ohio?

Kawaii is correct about what the law is. The problem it that it is almost unenforceable and there are many reports that it has not made any real impact in the clubs themselves.

Currently, and most important, the law is in federal court, so there is a chance that it could be overturned.

Issue 1 didn't officially exist this year. The organization that was collecting signatures to get the stripper law repealed fell short of the necessary number required. Even though Issue 1 appeared on the ballot, the votes were not tabulated and the law stands.

I heard on the news that people were now going to seek to overturn the law via appealing for legal remedy from the courts, but I don't know the status of that effort.

The law, which is now in effect, prohibits sexually oriented businesses from being open between midnight and 6 a.m. Businesses that serve alcohol may remain open as late as their permit allows, as long as there is no nude dancing. Strippers and patrons are not permitted to touch while the stripper is nude or seminude.

A violation of the law is a fourth-degree misdemeanor. Touching in certain anatomical areas is a first-degree misdemeanor.
