Justifiable- or is it one of those university things a person is just supposed to feel laid back about?

I feel intensely irritated by the fact that a girl in my class couldn't be bothered to study and just because we were in the same science practical group, decided it would be ok to copy down the answers from my calculations without doing any herself. She later comes up to me to ask me how I got my answers - the method was on the worksheet she shoved in my face. I can't understand why she couldn't be bothered to read it. Am I missing something here? Was I stupid to let her copy from my answers? Do I have to hide my work in order to avoid awkward situations. Sounds ridiculous.

Yes, its right!

She's taking the work that you have done and using it with no work of her own. It is perfectly rational and right to feel offended when someone takes something that is yours.

You shouldn't let her do it because she gets rewarded (good grades) for something she didn't do. She's taking a reward that is yours. There is no reason for a lazy person to be rewarded like that.

Its fairly easy to stop this, just tell her "no." If she wants to make and issue of it, report her for trying (after you have a witness to prove it).

It is ridiculous that she had to even copy from you when she had all the equations on her own worksheet. Lazy people shouldn't be tolerated.

Next time you should approach her and tell her to do her own work.

You should be irritated because I am and I just read this a second ago before trying to answer it lol

Don't let her copy it! I have the same problem in one of my classes. This girl that claims to be my 'friend' is always copying my answers! I tell her to stop it and read the stuff herself, and won't let her have any opportunity to see my paper. AT ALL! I suggest you do the same.

You aren't missing anything - she's a user. Don't let her copy your work again - you get nothing out of it, and it doesn't help her learn anything. And yes, you have a right to feel irritated with her and yourself, but at least one of you learned something.

Definitely okay to feel irritated. You're taking the time to read and work, and then someone else unwilling to read and work just takes what you've done as their own. Quite annoying.

Yes of course. Its your hard earned work and she just annoyingly takes it. Your not stupid but once in a while say no especially when she wont even bother to try.

I know how you feel. I have someone in my history class that copies my tests and basically "interprets" my writing to look like his own.

Do not let her copy from you. Both of you are cheating.
Move and cover your work.
Report her if she tries it again.
