It seems my opinions towards illegal immigration translate to me being a racist.

My wife emigrated to the US from Colombia. She is opposed to illegal immigration as much if not more so than I am.

Can anyone please explain to me how a simple belief in opposition to illegal immigration would make either me OR my Colombiana a couple of racists?

What does staying in a country illegally have to do with a persons race???

You must never disagree with a LIB! They are all-seeing and all-knowing by virtue of the fact that they "care"! You must be a white guy! If so, then you're automatically a racist!

I have been called a racist also and they use that because that is their ONLY argument. They don't have a leg to stand on when it comes to this issue. Every argument they bring up can be debunked by facts as to how this is hurting our Country.

I don't care what color they are, if they are illegal I don't want them here. It is sucking our system dry and is a MAJOR national security issue.

They truly have no clue.

Oh thank your wife for being a patriot and people like her are always welcome.

The only time immigration as a whole will be a problem for me, is if amnesty is given and the President, some of his republican goons and democrat goons a spitting in our faces.

The only ones in favor of illegal immigration are those corporate and other business interests that take advantage of cheap labor without having to deal with benefits, payroll taxes safe working conditions or fair wages. Like everything else in this country, it's all about the money. As a liberal, I would like to see two things: 1. Normalization and regulation brought to the process and 2. All people treated with respect, dignity and courtesy.

Some people are ardently opposed to illegal immigration because they are racists. But it's a fallacy to claim that opposition to illegal immigration automatically makes a person a racist.

There is NOTHING "racist" about a desire to see the laws of the USA actually enforced.

I have been acussed of being a "racist" by many of the people I have deported.

I ask them, "How can I be "racist" when I don't care which country you came from, what color your skin is, which language you speak, or which religion you practise?"

They never have a response that makes any sense.

The "Race Card" is over played.

Every specie on earth including man has a passive level of inherent race or specie consciousness.

Until we can live with that We will keep arguing "No I'm not" "Yes you are"

Respecting each other and recognizing our differences as qualities that make up the picture of life. Is a long way off. But a road we should all travel.

Racists are against illegal immigration too but that doesn't make everyone who's against it a racist. Demagogy comes from all sides and is the lowest from of political discourse.

Being against illegal immigration doesn't make someone a racist.

it has nothing to do with race, but the illegal immigrants are learning from the black people that if you pull the race card, then some people start to get afraid of being called racist.

I dont know what they said to you so I couldnt say.

Immigration is often a costal issue. People on the coasts are more tolerant on the issue beacuse they know most of them provide good labor and become legal eventually anyway.

I wouldnt say "racists".

That's ridiculous...I am all for people coming here, just do it legally...it is not fair to people who go through the legal process to let people here illegally stay
