We are going to my fiances grandmas for thanksgiving this year. Well she is in her 80's and refuses to own a microwave. Well that is how we warm our daughters water for her bottle. She can't drink room temp. water because she gets a belly ache so we must warm it. I've tried warming it by letting hot water run over the bottle but it took almost a half hour to warm it. My daughter is 8 months and she eats whenever she needs to.. she is not on a schedule so there in no way to tell when she'll be hungry next. So my question is what is the best and fastest way to warm her bottle?

Thanks.

Um.. never mind.. i just thought of a way. I'll just warmthe ater on the stove just like I would the microwave and then pour it into her bottle. Her bottles melt in super hot water. we've tried.. but this way will work great. Thanks anyway!

Years ago, they would get a small saucepan, heat the water to boiling and then warm the milk in it.

Aren't we spoiled that we can't live without a microwave? lol

lol before microwaves your mother and grandmother where using the stove top. water in a pan and hold the bottle in with some prongs so you dont hurt yourself. this is also a good way to steralize the bottles if she dosent have a dishwasher or you just dont feel the hot water from the sink is enough. ask your grandmother in law. im sure she knows exactly how to warm the bottles. best of luck ^_^

Try heating up the water in a little pot until it boils or nears boiling point. Then put the water in another bowl and sit the bottle in there. You don't waste water and it takes about a minute or two.
I would not suggest buying a bottle warmer because those things are awful!

get a saucepan and put some water in it. Put the bottle in the water and put it on the stove over medium to low heat. let it simmer for a minute or so, shake well and test often to avoid it getting too warm.

when traveling, you can get a cup of hot water from any drive through or 7-11 and put the bottle in there for a few minutes... this usually takes more like 3-5 minutes, but it's worked like a charm for us every time we're on the road!!

Should be done in 1-2 minutes. I never use microwave, so we always either use this method or a bottle warmer.

If it does get too warm, you can cool it by either adding more formula or putting it in the freezer for a few seconds and shaking well.

Is she breast fed or formula fed? If formula just mix warm tap water with the formula. If breastfed, you may want to invest in a bottle warmer if boiling water takes too long.

Boil a kettle and let it cool for a while and leave the bottle in the water, it works!

Well since you refuse, to warm it in a pot,
and you don't want to wait for warm water,

and your ticked that she doesn't have a microwave
and your baby HATES room temperature,

it sounds like you have made up your mind, NOT to visit granny

Personally, I would have hoed that a woman with a child could be more tolerant

But apparently NOT.

You do realize that formulas are NOT supposed to be warmed in the MICrowave,

So my suggestion is for you to BRING your microwave with you.

Put a pot of water on the stove and let it warm and put the bottle into the warm water. Then test the milk on your wrist ... if the milk is warm then it good enough for the baby to drink.

Or warm the milk in the micro-wave.
