Don't you think idiots that call 911 over little things ( like this lady http://www.snopes.com/crime/cops/burger.asp) should stop because its endangering other people? I mean... someone could be getting murdered, but they can't get help because all the lines are filled with callers complaining about little things!

Wouldn't you hate to think you were that damn helpless?
I'd say letting her starve to death in the parking lot would be doing society a favor.

Well, let's put it this way. I have the local dispatch office phone numbers for CHP and my local sheriff in my cellphone, because calling 911 from a cellphone in CA is a total waste of time. Hold times are typically over 10 minutes - largely because of people calling to report stupid rubbish like that.

Well, since everyone abandoned personal responsibility and refuses to talk to their neighbors over routine issues, we get calls that take up our time all the time, like parents using cops to discipline their children (yeah, right, call the cops to come yell at your kids... make them afraid of the cops...) .... my neighbors in the upstairs apartment are making too much noise.... the dog down the street is barking again... the list goes on, and on, and on, and on, and on....
911, where is your EMERGENCY.....!!!!
that is how I answer my phone.
