Because, just like everyone else in every other country, people are deply and truly stupid.

EVERYONE else has been killing each other and others since dawn of time...African nations were doing it, Europe was doing it, Asia was doing it, Aztecs and Mayans were killing each other en masse. The Middle East has been a warzone for thousands of years. So how is America so different from everyone else? What is the U.S. supposed to do, sit around like a scared little girl while the real savages take over?
Do you think we shouldn't confront the savages at Darfur? Would we be labeled as savages ourselves for trying to rescue these people from their own ignorance and bloodthirstness?
Have you ever considered that the U.S. is one of the very few nations that acts out of compassion and nobility? We have sacrificed a fortune and our soldiers to give the peoples of Afghanistan and Iraq a chance to live peacefully with a legitimate, democratic form of government.
Would you prefer that women in Afghanistan were still living like slaves to the ignorant, uneducated, unwashed Taliban? would you prefer that the citizens of Iraq were still under the boot of the "Butcher of Baghdad"?
It's easy for people who do nothing to be smug. If you never do anything, no one can ever criticize your actions. I'm sure some pompous college brat in Switzerland is swilling beer with his buddies tonight, talking the same nonsense about the U.S. However, consider the wise words of Teddy Roosevelt:

America is CIVILIZED!!!!!!!! We do not cause the wars. We generally get involved for the good of the world. How can you say we are acting like savages when we give Billions of Humanitarian Aid to countries all over the globe. Remember it was Bill Clinton that sent the first bomb to Iraq because they didn't want to fess up to having nuclear weapons or the means to make them. We are like the Godfather for the planet. Someone has to.

That is like asking a black why he still causes racism. We do not cause wars, we have fought in many a war, generally going in to pull someone else's bacon out of the fire.
But because of America fewer civilians die in every conflict then in any previous action, because of our ethics and technology. Even though the cowards who attack us hide among the civilians, we go for them even if it means more American lives will be lost, we will attempt to remove the cancer not the whole limb.
So if you believe that is acting like savages, then I Don't want to know what you consider civilized.

Just look at their history and you will see that bloodlust is in the American psyche.
First the Indians got in their way so they commited a genocide (killing at LEAST 2 million).
Then the blacks got “uppity” and demanded equality so they lynched many thousands (the killers repeatedly acquitted by all white juries).
Now the Muslims are the targets of their hatred.
Thank goodness I’m not a Muslim - there is no limit to the bloodthirstiness of Americans.

The Americans didn't even care that the Muslims they were bombing in Iraq were not the ones who attacked on 9/11 - the joy of killing was satisfaction enough.

America is not technically a "civilized" country.
There is so much lawlessness, and corruption
on a different level. Mainly behind close doors.
But power can do that to a nation. And given our
status throughout history, we think of ourselves
as being invincible. Therefore, that will be our
downfall.

When you are listening to an anti-war person explain why we shouldn't go to war, listen politely to every argument they have to say. When they are though, ball up your fist and knock them right on their ***. They'll jump up madder than hell ready to fight. Then just give them the same reasons they gave you to not to resort to violence. After they calm down knock them on their *** again!

We don't cause wars,nor do we run and hide when attacked.If some in this world choose to attack us,we respond.If that response includes targeting the friends of our enemies,so be it.
