saying something just to get media attention, or just a little bit of logic?

if it is easy, why do people waste their time worry about the silly rantings of people who are doing just that?

I would say that I feel I know the difference but unfortunately perception is the true game of politics; and I agree, it bedazzles me how some perceive sincerety. Of course maybe my perception is wrong!

Anyway, I do think logic can compensate for not being smart enough to know when you are being BS'ed; but typically this logic demands research and knowledge, something I don't think those who lack this intelligence are going to do! Another toss in the ring for those seeking power!

Politics itself is persuasion, and sadly be, most people don't even understand that! It's like asking a car salesman why he is trying to sell you a car?

If we were truly to take elections seriously, we wopuld gather those in a classroom for 3 hours a night one week before the election and teach the issues and both sides of the arguement. We would then take a vote on what was learned and understood by the voters; and then cast answers accordingly. All of this while they never see the Candidate, nor go on to vote without truly understanding the issues.

Anyway, sorry for going off tangent.

Perception utlized by persuasion, dependent upon a constituency who is ignorant of law and policy is, high intellegence on theri part-not on ours!

Like "Mission Accomplished," and such?

I think it's pretty transparent...

Edit: Take, for example, those who say something like "A liberal can...," or "Liberals do [this]..." This is known as "baiting," and is a tool of those who are brainwashed into believing that a concept is an actual, living, breathing entity. Pretty sad, really.

Ah, well...

to jskmarde: That is simply untrue. I have read many Liberals say negative things about Hillary.

Why do people say things which are plainly untrue?

No it's fairly easy to figure it out.

Depends who is saying it. A liberal can have an IQ of 160 and if Hillary says anything they will buy it, defend it, and treat it as fact regardless of what it is.
