Here is the next step to total control of American's.

Take away our Constitutional right to protect ourselves and bare arms.

It started with the school shootings, but I guess it is not going along as fast as they want it.

If this passes then the Constitution is officially dead as is our once great Nation.

NWO, World Bank and the SPP = those who have hijacked our Government and wish to take away your guns leaving exposed to their ultimate rule without question or rebellion!

Yes, it is a ban that has gone on for 31 years to long!

"We believe the Supreme Court will acknowledge that, while the use of guns can be regulated, a complete prohibition on all functional firearms is too extreme," Gura said. "It's time to end this unconstitutional disaster. It's time to restore a basic freedom to all Washington residents."

Time to end this befor ethey continue the ban and expand it as well!

Guns made specifically for hunting, like shotguns, and for protection, like handguns, should be allow for citizens to keep. But I don't condone concealed carry as a blanket rule. Some ppl have a legit need to conceal carry like carriers of precious gems, diplomatic couriers, air marshals, undercover officers, etc.

On I am sure the NRA, which should be named the National Assault Rifle Association, is all over this case. NARA would condone those who wish to possess a fully armed Abhrams tank driven down main street with the driver threatening to fire at anyone who approaches or those who own 1 or more semi and automatic assault rifles. Why not also include in that blanket approval hand grenades, pipe bombs, 50-cal. machine guns, 8-in howitizers, shoulder fired missles and the like. Such firearms are made for 1 purpose and 1 only -- to kill people.

Actually I think there has been a law outlawing handguns in DC for a while now.

There was a news story about a Virginia Representative that had something happen and it was revealed he was taking a handgun into work with him in DC. He claimed that he was not in violation of the law since he was leaving his home state where it was legal and going onto government property where the law doesn't apply.

It may even be that case that has brought the law before the Supreme Court.

Constitution has been dead for a long time. Its original intent was smashed totally after the Supreme Court shifted the power from the states to the Fed.

As for the takeover of all those various powers, its not that easy. I hear all about this stuff all the time, but those saying it are always wrong. I never hear a single retraction when they claim something has or will happen, yet nothing ever comes of it.

Wake up! Stop worrying about it! What do you think you can do anyway even if they do exist? Just let it go and live a happier life without fearing everything.

Chill out. This is the third time this question has been raised in the last 20 minutes. DC has had a handgun ban for a while now. The Supreme Court is ruling on whether or not states and municipalities can legally ban handguns. They are not taking your gun away. This court is slanting Conservative and will likely say that DC can have their guns.

You do realize the D.C is not an actual state. Where they do have a local government body (a mayor and a district council) it is actually controlled by the Congress.

I guess what I trying to remind you is that the US is still a republic. What one state, or commonwealth does, does not directly effect all other states.

The supreme court is reviewing Washington DC's 31 year ban on hand guns. If you think this is a new move you really missed the bus.

Wow...did you actually read the news accounts?.....the issue is that in D.C. there is already a law against handguns....the supreme court is likely to rule the law unconstitutional

What's the point of a ban on handguns? The honest American's may be pissed off by it, but they won't buy them. The one's who will commit a crime can get them from somewhere else and still use them. The ban can't work, so what's the point of it anyway?

It's been the law there for 30 years. It's needed and it's good--many guns used in crimes elsewhere come from Virginia, so there is still access!
