I have knew all my grandparents and I loved them all. My mother's mom has always been my favorite, she is like a second mom to me. I am sorry you couldnt have met them, maybe you could ask your parents how they were and what they were like.

I barely knew them at all. We were in a Marine Corps family, and were all over the country when I was growing up. My Maternal Grandfather died before I was born. My Maternal Grandmother died 30 years ago. I met her a few times, but didn't know much about her, except for stories that my Mom would tell. I do remember her taking me to the grocery store once, and the ride home. She bought me a fuzzy caterpillar toy, that I played with in the car.
My Paternal Grandmother ran off with the Fuller Brush man while Grandpa was off fighting in WWII. So I never knew her. Grandpa I got to know a little bit. He was a cranky old fart at times, and the sweetest guy ever at others. He died 13 years ago this Thanksgiving Day. The family resemblance is eerie.

Yes I know my grandparents very well. I used to go stay the summers with my Mom's parents. I used to have so much fun with them, we would go to their cabin in the mountains and just hang out and play board games. My grandpa passed away some time ago now, and I miss him so much. My grandma is not doing so well, I really need to go visit her. I never got to met my Dad's dad he passed away before I was born. But I knew my Papa and he was awesome, he would always sneak me candy. My Granny was and is always a incredible woman. I unfortunately haven't seen her in years, but when I was a kid they used to come and visit alot. I'm sorry for you not having that opportunity. I have great memories with both sets of my grandparents.

I spent a lot of time with both sets of grandparents and one great grandmother. I miss both of my grandmothers very much. They each passed with in 5 years of each other. My moms dad died when she was 14. So I never had the chance to meet him. I was I did because there is a lot we have in common. So I have been told.

I knew both of my Grandmothers. My Granddads died before I was born. One of my G/M remarried when I was about 8 & he was the best Granddad anyone could have ever asked for. I was close to both G/M &G/D & they always spoiled me & spent time with me. They were a great influence on my life. I was always made to feel special & loved. I miss them so much. I'm really sorry you missed out on that experience.

I only knew my maternal grandparents... my paternal grandparents had already passed away by the time I was born.
It was interesting to spend time with them when I was very young - but as I grew older, I realized that there was a LOT about them that I never knew and never would know.
Since then... they've both passed away & do miss them from time to time.

not only did I know my grandparents but also great grand parents on my mother side.
The time spent with them was priceless...but as a child you never realize it and once they are gone you really wish you could have spent more time with them.
The stories and information they can share are worth more than anything else you can imagine.

Yes I did...I use to love going to see them. I did not know my dads parents, but my moms. I use to sing over the river and thru the bridge to grandmothers house we go. I have the fondest memories of my grandfather we were close. My grandmother was ill..so it was not as easy to get to know her.
My grandma died before I had my daughter. But my grand dad got to see his first great grand child before he died. Sure miss them! Thanks for the memories.

I never knew my father's parents....both died before I was even a thought....
My mother's parents were as close to me as if they had been my own parents. In fact often people thought I was theirs. My Gramps was a wonderful person. My Grams was my best friend and I have been lost without her since her death in Feb.
Peace.
