Quite obviously wrong! I don't see why people in that country treat victims as criminals, they haven't done anything wrong, no one deserves to get raped, those law-makers are crazy.

I love how "tolerant and open-minded America" condemns other cultures and countries all the time.

Get over yourselves.

Their laws are what they are, she was actually sentenced to 90 lashes, spoke out to the media (trying to manipulate their legal system to her advantage) and was sentenced to 110 more lashes because of this.

Is it right? Certainly not by mine or any western standards. Is it justifiable? Absolutely to the people of that culture.

Again, get over yourselves.

Hey morons, the rapists jail terms were doubled too in the appeal. Only in America do we argue for somone who broke a law because they became a victim. Look, the law makes sense to them, get over yourselves.

This is also an example of whats wrong in America, there is a large group of people that feel they know whats best for the entire country and they want to force their way on everyone. There are repubs and dems that not only think this, but act on it.

It is totally wrong, but if you think about it British law is something the same, the victim may not get lashes and jail but he or she has to live with this for the rest of there lives while the rapists get away scott free

How can you even ask? What a barbaric society these people have. Those (men) are despicable animals. The ones who make and enforce such laws are lower than animals. A woman suffers the ultimate humiliation and violence by SEVEN men and is PUNISHED? Thank GOD I am an American and a Christian. Living in a muslim country would be worse than living in hell. Maybe that's why so many are coming west.

I am disgusted by this - the poor girl gets gang raped 14 times, the men get between 1-5 years and she gets 6 months and 200 lashes - no doubt she brought shame on her family.

Thank heavens we don't have sharia law in this country......

In our eyes wrong and in my opinion very wrong - But it is another country and another culture that we have no right to question. A lot of pro immigration people in the uk want to encourage 'multi-culturalism' and this is a trait of another culture - so are we to see rape victims getting lashings in lecester sqaure?

Oh come on! If you can't figure out that it's wrong, yo need to move your butt to a Muslim country. In America, we put the rapist in jail not the victim.

They had the most hijackers in the 9/11 attack and have laws such as these. We should have declared war and invaded Sept.12th. Sick and disgusting. The fact we invaded Iraq shows that GWB condones inhumanity.

yes, I saw the same on CNN, her 'crime' was being alone with a man that was not her husband....

it is deplorable, but that is the middle east, and a good example in my opinion of how those that support the Iraq war effort, don't seem to realize what we are getting into.

Stupid but it is illegal for a woman to lose her virginity before marriage even if she is raped. I don't agree with this at all, but that is what the law there says. I don't think I'd live there.
