If you are a parent, then you should have your own ideas of what kind of a parent you want to be, and that is what you should aspire too. Everyone is their own worst critic.
You should ALWAYS try and do your best no matter what the subject is, and that should be more than enough. Expecting too much of anyone is a total mistake, but it doesn't mean that you have to make them feel small when they are not doing what you feel that they should. It isn't about you. You MUST set your own limits and so should everyone else.

according to your file, which includes statements from grammar school teachers, ex bosses (and they are legion), your parents and that one female you almost had sex with in the 11th grade, you are a jerk. when we ask for a project to be completed, we mean (without explicitly saying so) now. we mean top priority. we mean a+ work. not that drivel you've been turning out. frankly, as thoracic surgeons go, you should. we'd fire you if you weren't our kid. love, mom and dad.
