If I've drawn a design, but don't know how to make a pattern, is there somewhere I can have a pattern made so I can begin to construct the dress?

what I usually do, is to purchase a pattern similar to the article I want to make, then baste together the bought pattern, add or subtract to the finished article, then take it apart by pulling the basting threads. Starch the material, lay it out on tissue paper, and cut it out. I've done several things this way.
