And, what's the most you have won?
I play about $10 worth a month, and the most I have won is $50 and that was on a scratch off ticket. But, it seems like alot of seniors have been in the news the last couple of years winning the big lotteries.

Occasionally, I play the Maryland lottery. When I do play,
I never win though. But, there's always hope and you can't
win if you don't play.

I haven't bought a ticket in years. Sometimes when I am in line at the grocery store I notice the lottery is up to X amount of dollars and I think I'll buy a ticket, but then the line is so long at the counter, I say "to heck with it, it's not worth waiting in that line for." I did get scratch off tickets sometimes ten or twelve years ago. I won fifty dollars twice and ten once. I don't think I'm lucky enough to ever win.

Funny, lived in Las Vegas for 14 years and they have everything there but a lottery. Was too much hassle to drive to the Cal./NV boarder to purchase tickets so didn't play the lottery for years. Here in Hungary I was playing the lotto as it is called here regular for over a month, no one had hit and the pot was up to over 10 million dollars, really a fortune anywhere but here it was huge. Didn't hit even one no. I usually play the Sandanavian lotto which is picking 7 out of 45 numbers. I usually use new numbers every try, my husband thinks his new system is good but I don't have all that much confidence in it. He has numbered balls in which we pick the numbers out of every time we play. So far we have invested over $50. and it has only brought in less then $20. not good odds. What really boggles my mind is if you hit 6 out of 45 you barely get paid, unless you hit all 7 then it is hardly worth the risk. This lotto pays after you hit at least 3 out of the 7, and then it just about covers the cost of the ticket. What a rip.

We occasionally buy a couple scratch offs or the big lottery tickets where you pick the numbers, we never spend over $5.00 in a wk when we do play. I won $50 on a scratch off ticket once.

Most of these answers and the Q seem to be from the USA. Good luck to ya all!
I am in England and am afraid to say I am a real sucker for the lottery. Unfortunately I chose mine and my partners birthday numbers (as they all fall between 1 and 49) I HAVE to do them twice a week because if I don't, they may come up. Because I know them so well , I would know if I missed them.
How sad is that to become so hooked?

I went out with a guy once that came to my crummy apartment after my divorce. His idea of a good time was taking a walk to the local liquor store and buying $100 in scratchers. We went back to my apartment an scratched most of them before he got a phone call that his daughter was sick and he needed to leave. He told me to keep scratching then take the winnings back to the liquor store and buy more. I went to the store with $60 from the original $100. By the time I was through playing this stupid game of his, I was down to $0. $hit Happens!
