Hi there: I'm sued in L.A. for a credit card debt ($2,200) as I live in Puerto Rico. The judge, after an OSC hearing that apparently turned well for the plaintiff, scheduled a "Case Management Conference". What is that? Is that another procedural step or the case main hearing where the judge will hear the merits of the case? Thank you+++

It's a procedural step.

Basically it's a meeting to decide on things like when the case will be heard, how long the parties expect it to take, how many witnesses are they planning to call, etc etc etc.

ps... for things like a credit card lawsuit, such conferences are frequently held over the phone.
