Huh?

Giuliani failed to provide the FDNY with radios that worked after the 1993 attacks, which led to the deaths of 121 fire fighters inside the World Trade Center's North Tower because they were unable to hear orders to evacuate.

He called off the recovery effort at Ground Zero on Nov. 1, 2001, after $200 million in gold bullion was recovered, showing a total lack of respect for the fallen

He was then instrumental in the destruction of critical evidence by the selling WTC steel beams with the
help of mafia middlemen to Chinese steel manufacturers.

The International Association of Fire Fighters criticized Rudy for cutting back on the number of firefighters searching the rubble of Ground Zero for the remains of other firefighters.

He walked down the street with a mask over his face (incidentally, he said the rescue workers didn't need masks) after the threat had passed. The heroes of 9/11 are the firemen who rushed into those buildings before they collapsed, not the coward who hid out until afterwards.

No

As a New Yorker I can tell you Rudy did a good job on 9-11 but no better then Koch, Lindsey, Bloomberg or other NYC mayors would have done

Before that he was the most hated man in New York.

Further his grab for power after 9-11, when he tried to prevent full and fair elections by staying in office, does not portend well for what he would do if elected President

Rudy is a dangerous man

perchance if we found out slightly greater approximately him. good now, we don't understand something approximately Giuliani's journey different than his term as NYC mayor. we don't understand his platform, or what his perspectives are different than he's a republican. He did his activity on 9/11, that's under i'm able to declare that Bush did for Katrina victims. yet that on my own does not qualify him for president. And could the folk help a divorced candidate who left his spouse for yet another and lots youthful woman? feels like which would be too lots for the neocons. I do think of even with the undeniable fact that, that Giuliani could do greater for the folk of u . s . a . than say, McCain. there is purely something approximately that guy i for my area do unlike.

Rudy Giuliani, wasn't he the guy that moved the New York reponse force to WTC. Wasn't he the guy that had some nice photo op's while real people were working to uncover the bodies and survivors. Wait he's the guy that mentions 9/11 about a dozen times. If he is elected is he going to rename the White House to the 9/11 house?

I admired Giuliani for what I considered to be inspired leadership in the face of extreme tragedy. A good contrast would be the spineless whining, finger pointing and lack of leadership displayed by Nagin in New Orleans in the face of Katrina. However, while I do admire Giuliani, I do not see that his actions single handedly changed America. There was a group impetus at work in the aftermath of that tragedy. Americans came together in our sorrow and stood valiantly together for a brief time. This was not the effect of one man, but rather the combined effort of an entire nation.

What did he do that helped things on 9/11?

Was it disregarding all the recommendations on where to put an emergency command center or to have radio frequencies available so fire and police crews could communicate?

Or was it to send the first responders into the toxic mess without regard to their safety? Oh, wait, he bravely walked the streets for the cameras. Great leadership.

Ask the firemen how they feel about his "leadership."

He did try to exploit the tragedy to get around the legally mandated term limits. Again, great leadership to try and exploit tragedy for personal political gain.

At least he didn't have his cronies using facilities meant for first responders as a love nest for multiple mistresses... DOH!!

I do. I DO. However Mr. Giuliani is not the right candidate for America. I hate saying that, since his heart is so RIGHT, and so loving. America needs a leader who doesn't take any crud off anyone, and Rudy has shown some weakness in his stance on the war on terror. America needs another Ronald Reagan, (since Mr. Bush will be exiting his office, as president) and for me, that person is Fred Thompson.

You know, I'm from Jersey and I'm still not clear on what Rudy himself actually DID post 9/11. He didn't crack up, and he spoke well, but I've never been sure what all the praise is for. Can you be more specific as to why I need to thank God for him?

He did a better job than Mayor Ray Nagin did during Katrina.

I don't recall that at all.
I DO recall that - after the World Trade Center bombing in 1993, that he moved the NYC command center into the Towers.

Maybe being a mayor is what he should aspire to be.
