I am meeting my mom's boyfriend's parents on Thanksgiving.
I am wearing a mini skirt, tights, boots, and a turtle neck...might not sound cute, but it really is....
Do you think it's okay for a first impression?

You are right to ask!
You want to make a great first impression. I would wear a skirt no shorter than right above the knee. If your skirt is shorter than that, skip it.
Make sure your tights are opaque and match your skirt and boots. This will make your look taller and slimmer. Polish your boots for a well put together look.
Remember to smile, look your new acquaintances in the eye and shake their hands firmly when meeting them. Thank them for hosting. And follow up with a thank you note.
This will ensure that you make a lasting, great first impression.
Good luck and have fun!

Might be cute, but maybe you should find something else that is cute that covers more. If you where the mini skirt it might make your mother, mother's boyfriend and his parents feel a wee bit uncomfortable. Most importantly, you should think about your mother. I think she might be feeling some anxiousness as it is so, cut her some slack and where the mini skirt after the meal when you go out with your friends.

It sounds nice minus the mini skirt. How short is it? Remember, you're trying to make a good impression and these ppl are very important to your mom. :) I'm not saying to dress like a nun but maybe a pair of pants would be more appropriate. :)

the turtle neck, boots, and tights combo sounds cute...but instead of a mini( don't want to look like a stripper right?) try a pencil skirt..they are very classy and give all women great figures

i wouldnt wear a mini skirt
wear a longer skirt, jeans or dress pants
longer skirt=conservative
jeans=layed back, outgoing
dress pants=professional
go with what ever you think will impress them more!!

As a guy, I would want my girl to meet my parents dressed in something non-revealing. You said you were wearing tights with the mini, so that sounds pretty good.
Good luck!

As long as it's not revealing it should be fine. The last thing you want to do is look like you're competing with her for her boyfriend (future husband?). Acutally, in NYC that manner of dress is the rage.

i think it's fine...but you might want to expose less...when i brought home my gf and she was wearing a mini skirt my parents (stupid old parents) didn't exactly like it...said she looked too slutty. But it really depends on ur parents! good luck with the occassion and wish you the best of luck!
Hope that helps!

lose the tights, lose the boots. i think skirts and boots look really trampy and they went out in the 90's. but i think since they are parents, i doubt they'd no the difference so go for it!
