If you want a warm, fluffy scarf, get some angora blend yarn, about 400 yards, cast on about 30 stitches on needles about 3 sizes larger than the ball band recommends (the bigger the needle over size 9, the fewer the stitches you'll need) and knit the same length as your daughter's height, or at least 60 inches, since she's nearly an adult sized person.

If you just want something fun, two balls of fur yarn, size 13 needles, 15 stitches and knit till you run out of yarn.

i have found that the best length for a scarf is the height of the person your knitting for as for the size of the needles that depends on the thickness of the wool an example is Ive just knitted a scarf in the furry feather type wool with no9 (old UK size) needles and 30 stitches which made it 5 inch wide and i knitted it so it was 5 feet 4 inch long and that took me 50 gram balls hope this helps happy knitting and good luck

Fluffy Wool For Knitting

I would recommend going to your local yarn shop and asking them since you don't want to run short if it is something with a dye lot, you may not be able to match it up later.

I always knit fluffy scarves with US 11 needles or larger and this does use less yarn. Good Luck

Go to any good wool shop, or John Lewis and they should have this information.
