I hope not, Huckabee is offering every form of amnesty to every illegal immigrant, he has a history of raising taxes and stated that he would go to war with Iran without the consent of Congress. Not to mention he wants us to invest social security into Wall Street.. Aside from Giuliani, Huckabee is the worst candidate the GOP has..

I think this could easily happen because of the fractured Republican field and the odd nature of the Iowa voting. Essentially, in the Iowa caucuses, there are two rounds of voting, and everybody whose canddate fails to get 15% in the first round then has to choose a new candidate, and that's the vote that actually counts. The campaigns are maniging their supporters using cell phones and blackberries through this process. That's why the Iowa vote in 2004 was different form polls taken only a few days earlier.

Because voters going to a second choice rarely switch to the favorite, it's hard for a favorite to win Iowa. I think supporters of other candidates will gang up to beat Romney, and Huckabee may be the one they go to. In spite of the recent good publicity he's gotten, he has little money and national name recognition, which makes it hard for him to go forward even if he wins in Iowa.

Gee wouldn't that be a black mark on the voters of Iowa.

Huckabee is a raving lunatic. I think if he were a street person saying what he says they'd lock him up for a few days. (seriously)

Just what America needs....a man who sees angels, and doesn't believe in evolution, to lead us into the 21st century.

I think America has a Death Wish, I really do.

I think it's a little late in the game, people in Iowa who support Romney are likely to hold that position come the caucuses in January. It's very close around the corner.

Huckabee is gaining ground, which much of us knew would happen. Frontrunners (aka Giuliani and the overhyped Thompson) lose ground the more that people actually know about them. I'm glad the people of Iowa are making important decisions and not paying attention to the national polls.

NOPE!! Anyone who has read up on both candidates knows that Romney is the only one with the experience to be president. That is why everyone LOVED Ross Perot in the 90's. Self made millionaire and a businessman. Perfect combo for a president. None of the dem candidates have ever ran a business. Uh...how many trillion of $$ is our budget?!

Probably not, unless he starts polling more than 15% in Iowa. The way the caucus works, if he doesn't pull 15%, he can't be voted for at all, then the caucus goers have to pick someone else...this will work in Romney's favor, most likely. Huckabee is a second-tier candidate. I don't think he will win in Iowa. But one or more of his ideas might get co-opted by another candidate if he does well.

Yes, he'll win Iowa. He has great momentum going into the final month before the election.

i'm curious why a self confessed leftist could even think of roughly that. 2008 is over, the 2012 election are springing up very quickly, and that's what Republicans are excited by now
