Usually, I kill them. But I would prefer to catch them alive, open the window and throw them away. So I can spare their life, just in case it's someone from my family who is reincarnated. I did it a few times with a paper, the spider climb on the paper then I open the window and shake the paper. But it's not always convenient. Is there a better tool?

Place a glass over them, gently slide a thin piece of cardboard under the glass, and voila!

They have bug catchers that use suction to suck up the insects. However, that may not work too well on spiders. They are not as sturdy as your average insect. It is very easy to break their legs off if you try to catch them.

What I do is take a piece of paper (usually cardstock, it is stronger) and place it close to the spider and then drive the spider onto the paper. Then cover up with a glass. Carry the spider out and it is done. Of course, I am not afraid of spiders so that does not bother me a bit. I have even carried a few out by hand when I could not get them to get on the paper.

I use my hands, but I'm not afraid of spiders. I usualy coax it into crawling on my hand then I walk it outside and gently brush it off. I've never been bitten this way, but you might not be so lucky. As long as it's not a very dangerous species the bite wont hurt any more than a bee sting. If there are any spiders in your area that are dangerous to people and you don't know how to tell them apart from the harmless ones, don't use your hands.
