Should the Drews (who harassed Megan Meiers) be charged with grooming for abuse?

Surely there has to be something that can be done to these sick and pathetic people.

What kind of an adult poses as a child? There should be a law, period, about this. Surely the case can be made the Drews attempted something nefarious for this child.

I think that argument goes out the window once they started insulting Megan. It is obvious they were not grooming her for any sort of sexual abuse. That charge would never make it through court. The DA made every attempt to prosecute as he felt something should be done however they did not violate any law.

Any new law passed would not affect them as a law can not be applied retroactively.

I don't know about charges in that respect since it is "Internet" territory and its not under any certain jurisdictions. Since Drew admitted it, maybe she could be charged with aggravated intent or some level of stalking/harassment.

As a mother - she should be investigated by child and family services. What kind of parent does such childish things. What other things is she teaching her children. Yes, it hurts when someone is messing with your kid. That's why you teach your child to let things go or to stand up for themselves. You don't teach them to "bully" or to aggravate the situation.
