This is VERY common when they grow way too old. And watch out, because they also lose their great smelling sense, so if one they he can´t see you nor smell you and you touch him, most probably he will attempt to bite you as a reflex!

depends on how much you love your dog...
there's a dog named Skidboot in Texas.. very awesome dog and he's going blind. His owner said he'd lead him anywhere and everywhere when he goes completely blind. :o)
