I am a value investor and been in the market for quite some time now. Almost all of my portfolio is the Vanguard value funds for Small, mid and Large cap. Also I hold a big position in the REIT index fund. But almost all these securities have been doing really bad for the past 2-3 Qtrs. I see my portfolio going down in value every Qtr. Should I trade positions for some growth funds ? What do think future holds for Value and REIT funds?

I'm also a value investor with Vanguard. I hold equity income & international value. But about 6 months ago, I decided to hedge or compliment my value funds with a large cap growth fund - Vanguard's Prime Cap Core.

It's always good to have a balanced portfolio, so some growth doesn't hurt. Growth & value will both have their days. No doubt value is struggling right now. I see that in my funds also. Try to stick with your asset allocation, and in the long run it will pay off.

Can't help you with your reit. Don't own any myself. But I suspect these will struggle for the next couple of years.
