IF a person runs into someone else and lies and says that they were not at fault and even gives a recorded statement to the insurance companies is there anything legally they can do or is it just your work against theirs......

we were going around a double turning lane and she side swiped me and she had a small scratch and my cars reeeeallly messed up she made a recorded statement to my insurance company that i came into her lane and thats false just wondering if they can do anything to her legally also no witnesses and the cop didnt even write a report

Always make sure there is some form of witness testimony. If you can't do that, then its really word vs. word. I know that you don't always have witnesses available, but always try and find one.

Perhaps there is something the officer reporting to the scene can see to prove who did it, but that depends on situation.

If its happening to you, try pointing out to the other party the penalty of lying about it. Its insurance fraud, perhaps even perjury, both of which carry a lot bigger penalty than simple wrecks carry.

Usually it is just your word against theirs unless there is a witness..

Although, take a picture of and make sure that the damage is fully documented.. the area of the damage can show who is at fault (for instance if he broad sided you)
