Is our personality inhirited? or we built it?

do we inherit our personality from our parents? or we build it ?

Personality is a combination of genetics and environmental factors. The family members that were very apparent in our lives up until we became adults has alot of influence on how we matured. There are several different aspects to consider as well, according to psychologists such as culture, gender, religion, and influences. The connection between our mind, body, and spirit determines who we are as well. Being aware of who we are and where we're going is important.

This is an interesting question!

Unfortunately my hubby is the one with the psych degree but I think we build our personalities based on our environment.
What I have interestingly noted though is that we seem to inherit other weird factors --like certain gestures from our parents. I came to realize this after meeting many peoples's rather estranged fathers....They didn't know them until their late teens and have had very little interaction with them at all--but they displayed gestures and mannerisms that were the same! I found that very interesting!

I think it is a little of both. I also think it depends how long you've lived with your parents and when you left the nest. I give it a 60% inherited and 40% built.

Possibly a bit of both. I would say most people have similar personality to our parents but that may be because they brought us up and taught us to be like that?

i think we build our personality bc we are our own people and we make our own memories and so there for we must also make our own personalities, yea some of it may come from our parents but also its from who we hang out with too

i guess both ,,we r definitly influenced by our parents personalities and we build up the rest of the stuff
